Pesto Chicken Wrap at Casa

Friday, September 23rd, 2011

I just finished a good gym session with my trainer and was hungry. I know some people say don’t eat within 1 hour after you have trained but I was starving. Besides, I think I spent quite a long time in the bathroom showering and putting on my make up afterwards – so I guess that’s enough time.

Dinner at aTavola

Sunday, July 17th, 2011

Yep I am still catching up on writing about all the delicious food I had experienced before even moving to Haiti. This was even from before my hubby’s departure. I agreed to go out with hubby for a ‘date’ on that Friday night. Since we did not want to waste much time in traffic, we opted to go to any place nearby the house. With so many restaurants in Kemang area, one of them must have something special to offer.

Nasi Goreng Kemang

Saturday, May 22nd, 2010

One day, I was tidying up my finances and realized that a transaction at a certain restaurant made on the day before was double charged on my debit card. So I made a phone call to my bank to rectify this mistake. Since I was out anyway, after finishing up my business at the bank, I decided to get a creambath and body scrub at a nearby salon.

Dining Out: Toscana, Kemang

Thursday, July 2nd, 2009

After quite a while of cooking and eating in, my hubby and I decided to go out for dinner last Saturday. We wanted something nice but not too far from home as we dreaded the usual Jakarta traffic. We picked Toscana, an Italian restaurant in Kemang. My hubby went there with his office colleagues once, and said it was good, so I wanted to try it too.

My hubby ordered asparagus soup and pan-fried sole fish with mustard sauce, while I ordered onion soup and lamb chop with mint sauce. I can only speak for my order, of course, and while the onion soup was unfortunately a little bland, the lamb chop was really nice. At least compared to the last one I ordered elsewhere where the lamb chop was completely tough and the mint sauce tasted like plain olive oil. Here, the meat was quite tender and the mint sauce was tasty and added a nice fragrance to the meat.

For desserts, my hubby had chocolate mousse (which he claimed it does not stand a chance against the one in Brasserie), and I had crème brûlée. I tasted some of the chocolate mousse and I agreed it was not as good as Brasserie’s (it was quite heavier and sweeter) but I did like their crème brûlée. It was very creamy and not too sweet, although I thought it could have used a slightly thicker sugar crust. :P

Due to poor lighting, I did not take any pictures of the food. :(

The verdict? Will definitely come back another time to try out other menu items (but stay clear of the onion soup). :D
