Dinner at Les Nympheas
Having tried the in-house Chinese restaurant at the Imperial Queen’s Park, hubby and I decided to try out the French restaurant, Les Nympheas. The place looked quite posh and I loved the interior. It had very high ceiling and a semi-open kitchen. The seats were really comfortable and decorated with plenty of pillows covered with colourful Thai silk.
Enough with the place and decor. Let’s move on to the food! That’s what we’re here for, right?
Well, my hubby and I both ordered the mushroom soup but unfortunately since the place was kind of dark (actually it was only using dim lighting – very romantic), the picture of the mushroom soup didn’t come out very well. The soup was very tasty – sometimes mushroom soup lack taste, but this one sure didn’t!
Then for the main course we also opted for the same dish: roasted duck Magret. I must say, this is the best duck I have ever had in my entire life! I know I keep saying in my post about duck, that I am not a very big fan of ducks However, I have to say that this dish has converted me. The duck was so juicy and tender and the sauce perfectly complemented the duck taste.
For dessert, we had coffee and duo of strawberry and chocolate mousse to share. As you can see in the picture, it’s quite festive: generous amount of strawberries in strawberry sauce topped with a scoop of chocolate mousse which was very rich and had the perfect sweetness. Again, if we ever come back to Bangkok, I must drag my hubby back here!
