Delicious Dinner at Imperial China
Yet another story from the time we spent in Bangkok – yep long time ago. Or at least the first quarter of this year.
As I may have already mentioned before, we stayed at the Imperial Queen’s Park Hotel at Sukhumvit Soi 22. Their in house restaurant included a selection of Chinese restaurant, French restaurant, and Japanese restaurant. One night, we decided to try the Chinese restaurant.
We weren’t very familiar with the food offered so the head waiter helped us out. The waiter and waitresses were very helpful, all of them, and I really appreciated their warm service. We went for the pan fried boneless chicken in orange sauce, bean curd roasted duck, fried rice Yang Chow style, minced beef soup for me and sweet corn and crab soup for hubby.
Everything was sooo heavenly. The chicken in orange sauce was very special although the orange taste was very strong, but this is the first I have ever had this combo, and it was not bad at all! The bean curd roasted duck was also delicious, I ate most of the bean curd because hubby is not so fond of it. I really enjoyed my soup as much as my hubby enjoyed his. He said that there was plenty of crab to be scooped up from that soup – it’s not just the taste but there was actual chunk of crab meat, which is quite rare to have (or so I find).
After we have finished our delicious dinner, we wanted to have a little bit of dessert for our sweet tooth, so we ordered a deep fried pancake with banana. I loved it! It was funny enough to have deep fried pancake, but it actually tasted really good! It was crispy on the outside yet the banana was soft and smooth on the inside. We went back with a full and satisfied stomach as well as a spoiled tongue. I am making a mental note to come back to this place if we ever visit Bangkok again.
