Endless Deliciousness and Yumminess
During the first week of March, my hubby and I made a sudden one week trip to Denmark. With a short notice, I was invited to attend a training which I could luckily accept thanks to the two year multiple entry visa that I got last October 2009. Otherwise it would have taken me 3 weeks to apply for a visa, rendering me unable to attend the training. With an even shorter notice, my hubby was asked to be one of the facilitators in the training.
So there we were at the Danish Emergency Management Agency (Beredskabs Styrelsen) training centre in Snekkersten for a one week training. I have to tell you, it was the best training centre I have ever been to. Firstly, the bedroom was small but cozy – reminded me of my small bedroom in Germany during my childhood. We had a fantastic view to the beach, so that was definitely a plus point
.
Another important plus point was that the training venue had not one, but TWO advanced coffee machines – you know, the one where you just input what you want (black coffee, hot water, hot chocolate, cappuccino, latte, etc.) and the machine will automatically spit it out for you? Yes, that kind of machine. They had one in the kitchen/dining room and one just outside the training rooms. So you can imagine my happy face standing in front of the machine waiting for it to brew my cappuccino during session breaks.
Food wise, they serve excellent dishes, some of them pictured below. Compared to other training venues (well ok, I must admit I have limited experience in that: several places in Jakarta, one in Australia and one in Thailand), the food served here was not a typical ‘mass training buffet’ but it was somehow more of a restaurant brunch buffet – although not as lavish as the brunch in a few hotels in Jakarta
– but certainly enough for my appetite and stomach size.
Shown below are (from the middle picture to the top and working clockwise): salted grilled beef with gravy and vegetables, baked salmon with poppy seed, baked salmon with herbs, grilled turkey, baked potatoes, flæskesteg (roast pork with crispy skin), and some sort of a dessert which includes some meringue, lemon and caramelized nuts. Yummy! Well ok, the deliciousness and yumminess did come to an end when the training ended. But it was seriously a long-lasting experience!
