High Tea at Chatterbox Setiabudi

When a friend of mine came over to Jakarta from Bogor, we had a girly weekend with some shopping. The Monday after, she still had some time off from the office so I took her and her other friend with me to meet with one of my ex-colleagues for lunch at Sushi Groove. Click here to read a review I have made on Sushi Groove previously, because this one will not be talking about Sushi Groove anymore.

After lunch, my friend and I (and another friend of hers) went upstairs to catch a movie ‘The Edge of Darkness’ with Mel Gibson. The movie was really good, but of course this comes from a Mel Gibson fan as well as a conspiracy theory freak. Having had only sushi for lunch, we could feel our digestive system slowly opening up and asking for some more food. We didn’t immediately comply, but we went out to find some books instead. On the way from the bookstore back to the food area, we passed Chatterbox and saw they had a special offer for ‘High Tea’ for only 20k per person, which includes a snack of your choosing (out of four choices) and coffee or tea. We decided to give it a try.

I had the banana fritters, because that looked to be the only one that could be the smallest portion of snacks. My friend had the blueberry pancake. Well I was sort of right, the banana fritters were the ones that were the least big portion, although it still came in three. At least they were small threes. :D The blueberry pancake also came in three stacks, with generous amount of blueberry as well as a scoop of ice cream. It looked really yummy although I didn’t taste it for fear of not being able to finish my own dish. My dish, the banana fritters, were just ok. I mean, how else can banana fritters taste? They did have a good stock of banana, meaning that the bananas were sweet and ripe. It was served with caster sugar as well as a hint of chocolate sauce. I did like it, and wouldn’t mind ordering the same on my next visit.
