Testing Ecto by Illuminex
In a few days time, I will be starting yet another holiday with my hubby. As I want to be able to immediately blog about some of my trips and my culinary adventures, I wanted to take a laptop with me during my trip.
I had my trusty IBM which is actually my office’s laptop, but I really did not want to be tempted to check my work emails. That was out of the question and not even an option! So I dug out my old iBook G4 which is small enough for me to carry but has all the functions I needed. I only wanted to be able to download pictures from my memory card and then upload it onto my blog.
However, I wasn’t sure whether I could get some internet connection at the place where we were going to stay, so I looked for an offline blog publisher. After some browsing around, I found this blog editor by Illuminex, Ecto. And this is my first post using this editor.
So far it seems good enough. It was easy to set up my blog which is WordPress based, hosted on my sister’s server. Starting up a new post is only a click away, and in the editor’s window, I can see all the available categories. It has an option to import media from iPhoto, iTunes and Aperture, and it even allows me to schedule the post. I think this would be good enough for me, but we will see after I am back, I will post more about it. If you see me posting live during my trip, then this has been a success.

Yeah they’re always on vacation. That’s what they do for a living… LOL.
