Did I tell you I love cooking?

Well, tonight it was not so much cooking than to stir pre-cooked things together like tossing a salad. The menu for tonight was pretty easy, and it was also convenient since my hubby and I arrived a tad late at home and didn’t feel like standing too long in the kitchen to prepare our food. I took this menu from a recipe booklet titled ‘Fast Pasta’ published by Periplus and it was delish. It consisted of pasta of any kind – the recipe called for tagliatelle but I opted for spaghetti – tossed with smoked salmon, finely chopped dill, capers and lemon juice, which were mixed before with pre-melted butter. The taste of smoked salmon was dominant of course (also because I used more than prescribed) but the capers gave it a nice tangy taste (I used capers in vinegar).

I made a little too much as usual, so my food-happy hubby could indulge himself and Sam was then also a happy little pup.

The (Culinary) Adventures of a Nomad(‘s wife)

I was originally going to name this blog ‘The (Culinary) Adventure of a Nomad’s wife’. The reason being, is that in October 2008, I married my partner of 3.5 years, who is working for a humanitarian organization with a high travelling or relocation demand. Hence, the term ‘Nomad’. But then I thought, if I am married to a Nomad, and I intend to follow him around, that would make me a Nomad too. So why be wordy?

For some reason today when I was chatting with my sister, she asked whether I would be interested in writing a blog about food. I told her I have several times taken pictures of food I loved, wanting to upload them but just never gotten around to do it. We continued to chat until we came to a point where she thought it was ridiculous of me to have a paid account in one of the blogging service. Long story short, I ended up with my own domain and hosting it on my sister’s server. She tutored me step by step on how to do everything, and voila! Here I am!
